Exclusive silicone baits home made
Hello dear fishermen of DIY (do it yoursefl)! One day i was fishing on the river, I saw an interesting larva. Once at home, I began to look for it in the wild of the Internet, it is turned dragonfly larvae. This larva fantastically moves under water and its legs magically attracted small fish in the river. The larva has a length of about 3.5 – 4 cm (1″3/8).
I decided to make a homemade bait silicone, similar to the larva. Friends and I have little experience in this case. I did not make the bait at 100% like the real larva I saw in the river. Copying the larva is not necessary, there are several reasons for this. One of them is that this lure looks spectacular but doesn’t share the same behavior that the real larva.
The model of the lure I made is in polymer clay which is a very versatile material. It can be baked and easily processed: you can make a model and put it in the refrigerator. Due to the cold, material becomes solid and can be easily trimmed with knife. In the video you can clearly see the different steps of the process using plaster mold. Plaster mold is very affordable for all of us since it can be used for any model and not only for lures. For example, I employ it for lead sinkers, mormyshkas and much more. Polymer Clay is easy to remove from the plaster mold and respects the complex shape of some baits without damaging them.
I will describe (in videos at the end of this article) the simplest tools I use for producing quality silicone bait no worse than factory-made. And if not, you can experiment and make fantasy author bait that will be only yours!
There is nothing complicated. Cast, plaster molds and silicone baits can be made at home in the kitchen under the hood!
Dear fishermen, for me, the manufacturer of various homemade baits is primarily a hobby of mine. For several years I got a lot of experience, with great pleasure that I wish to share with you. I make exclusive handmade silicone bait at home. In the summer in the studio, in the winter at home in the kitchen. A few words about safety when casting lures. Work under the hood, use goggles and gloves, as well as memorable of a respirator. I wish you good luck in the manufacture of copyright baits.
Until next time, with respect.
