Hi My name is Per Johannsen am 54 years old, and live in northern Jutland Denmark.
I have been fishing since the age of 6, where my father toke me fishing from a pier after small flounders. Here i caught my first ever fish and “have been hooked” since today i mostly catch sea-trouts in the local streams in my area. But also like to go fish after pikes and perchs. Back in time i mostly fished and tied flies, but due to some problems with my hands the spinning rod toke over more and more, so i the past years only have used this.
As i always have been some kind of an inventor, i started make some light trolling spoons in aluminium about 30 years back. After that me and some friends made and fished a lot of spoons casted in silicone molds. These spoons were painted in many different ways. About 8-9 years ago i learned the technique to solder two sheets together by an great old man (Kaj Soernsen) from my local fishing club. Over the years i have developed my own technique and tools to make the spoons of today (and still are improving, as i always try/experiment out new ways and materials).
Early in 2011 i made my first wooden lure. The inspiration came from a Australian website: LureLovers.com. This site i found as i am a big fan/collector of the Norwegian Delfin/Delphin spoons. Was looking how far out in the world they were sold, and ended up on LureLovers.com.
SMORGASBORD DELFIN SPOONS from my collection
Here i got inspired to make wooden lures, and have since developed my skills here. Have made some different models in different size, and caught a lot of great trouts, pikes and perchs on them.
I am so lucky to be part of a team that runs the junior section in my local fishing club. Here we teach a bunch of young boys and one girl (my own daughter) the way of fishing. I help teach making spinners, soldered spoons and wooden lures. They also learn to make their own flies, and the different knots to leaders etc. etc.
Have a great day!
